The carpet story...

One nice day I was searching for a fluffy Moroccan carpet which I could put under my writing desk to keep my feet warm during wintertime...
So I went to a place called the 'nouvelle medina' or better known as the 'Habous Market' in Casa to find one:

The Habous was full of carpets of all different kinds and types... Colorful ones, plain ones, big and small ones, richly embroidered as well as simple ones, carpets from all different Moroccan tribes... What a beautiful sight!!!

It would have been difficult to decide for one of these magical patterns, if I wouldn't have been sure right from the beginning what I was looking for: a simple, plain berber carpet in a wonderful burgundy red.
The only problem was, that I simply couldn't find what I had in mind. There were all shades from orange, pink and bright red as well as lucent violet... all the colors apart from the one I was looking for...

So I went home without having bought a nice berber carpet at Habous... not dissapointed but making up my mind where I could next have a look for it... knowing quite well that its just takes its time in Morocco until you really get what you want.

Moroccan Door Impressions

While strolling through the small and cosy lanes of Morocco's cities, you see them everywhere...partially well hidden, some of them exposed...directly there in front of you. You just have to take a couple of seconds to look at them. Not perfect, a bit shabby and worn down, painted several times...people left their names on it.
Others newly refurbished, framed by colorful tiles, showing precious paintings. Each door has to tell its own story...
