Have you ever planned a nice weekend somewhere and didn't get there as intended... because you had a delay at one of the airports and couldn't catch the connecting flight?
Well, we just made the experience last weekend when travelling to Germany... We drove to the airport of Casablanca Mohammed V and waited there for hours and hours and hours.... until we finally arrived in Madrid two hours later than sceduled, sprinted to our connecting plane... arrived nearly on time... (well, the plane was still there), ... but we weren't let in anymore.
Voilà, there it was our 'unintended overnight stop' in Madrid.
And we made the best out of it: we took the Metro directly into the city centre and finally found the wonderful restaurant Casa Alberto which saved our evening:
Should you ever go to Casa Alberto, you definitely have to give
the spanish ham and a glass of good red wine a try....
... a good Espresso should never be missing after a good dinner...
Finally leaving the restaurant far behind midnight, we couldn't decide to go back to the hotel yet to get some sleep. Instead we dropped into a fabulous Jazz bar with live-music and good beer:
If you ask me: it wasn't that bad our overnight stop in Madrid!
And that was only the beginning of a great weekend for both of you in munich...
